I have been married for several years even though it doesn't seem that way. I have 2 wonderful daughters that make my life complete. I love my family, friends, my church family, TN Titans Football, decorating, cooking, trying new things, and anything water related. I am amazed every day at the way the Lord has blessed me in my life. I LOVE LIFE!!
Friday around noon we got several inches of snow. It didn't take long for the road, and the ground to become covered. Aleah and I decided it was a great time to build a snowman. The snow was perfect for rolling a snowman. When night fell, it began to sleet. Oh this was not good! Saturday we went out again, but the snow was "crunchy" ..not good for another snowman. Today (Sunday) the sun has been out. We went out for a while to get a little fresh air.
This is a view of the snow behind our house on Saturday.
These pictures were taken today!! Aleah is walking around listening to the snow crunch! Where are your gloves!!
I have been working several days and many long hours on planning my daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception. They did not want a wedding, but a few days before they decided on a very small wedding with family and friends. So on Jan. 7 they said "I Do". On Jan. 23 we had the reception. I had two close friends, who go to church with me, helped decorate, cook, and clean the community center. Doug's mother, aunt, and sister brought food for the occasion.
Holly sent around 50 invitations, so we did not expect about 40 people. On my goodness, we had almost 80 people come to celebrate. Each person was welcomed with open arms. Luckily, we had enough food for everyone! I am so blessed to have family and friends that support us. This was sure a GREAT experience. The cake was gorgeous!! Holly ask this lady in Manchester to make the wedding cake and the groom's cake.
Aleah had a dentist appointment last week. This was actually her second time to go, and she did great!! She was curious about what things did. They treat her wonderful at the dentist office, but she is a little scared of the dentist. She tells me she does like Big Boys, except for her Daddy!
I decided to spend some valuable time with Holly and Aleah, so we went to Murfreesboro to do a little shopping. We had so much fun just looking around and of course eating. We have eaten at Mellow Mushroom a few times before, but never tried anything different. Today we decided to try hot potatoe pie pizza....hmmmm good! It want be the last time.
OH MY!! What she comes up with. Aleah found pillows, throws, and what ever she could find to build a tree stand on the couch. She pretended to call deers with this bubble blower . Her Daddy has taught her so much about outdoors. They are always riding the 4-wheeler in the woods scouting for deers.
Shag made a few pictures of Aleah before church. We just thought she was so cute with her purple dress and denim jacket. I tried a new hair style, and it turned out cute!!
Aleah wanted to play a little before church. She also talked her dad into allowing her to take her walking and talking baby to church. However, she could not turn it on until church was over. I was so surprised how well she behaved in church today!
We had Christmas dinner at the house with my mother and step-dad..(aka..NanTom and NanMa), Holly, and Doug . We all had a great time opening gifts, eating, and talking about everything that came up.
Every year at Christmas time I always fix up a several plates of sweets for the neightbors. This year is the first time Aleah understood what we were doing. It was great!! She was so excited to go with her Dad and deliver the plates.
